Privacy Policy for Healthy Crohns

One policy, two parts: the mobile app and the website.

Your privacy is critically important to us. This single Privacy Policy covers two things, each in its own labeled part below:

It explains how we handle, secure, and protect the personal data and health information you provide. Part A applies to the App only. Part B applies to the Website only. The sections after Part B apply to both.

Part A The Healthy Crohns app

A1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

Healthy Crohns is designed as a personal health management tool to help you track symptoms and manage your wellness.

  • Health and Personal Data: The App processes health-related metrics, logs, symptoms, and personal notes that you voluntarily input. This information is used solely to provide you with the App’s tracking functionalities and insights.
  • No Third-Party Analytics or Tracking: We do not track your location, collect device identifiers for marketing, or utilize intrusive third-party advertising SDKs.

A2. Data Storage and Security

We treat your sensitive data with the highest standard of security:

  • Local Storage: By default, all data you enter into Healthy Crohns is stored locally on your own mobile device.
  • Encrypted Cloud Backups: If you choose to enable cloud synchronization or backup features within the App, your data is securely transmitted and stored using end-to-end encryption. This ensures that your private health logs remain private and can only be decrypted and accessed by you.
  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any of your personal or health data with third-party companies, advertisers, or medical institutions.

A3. Data Retention and Deletion

You retain absolute control over your information:

  • Since your data is primarily stored on your device, deleting the App will permanently delete all local data associated with it.
  • If you have utilized our encrypted cloud backup features, you can request or trigger data deletion directly through the App’s settings to permanently wipe your records from the cloud.

The Website never receives the health information you log in the App. The App and the Website are separate, and nothing you enter in the App is sent to healthycrohns.com.

Part B The healthycrohns.com website

B1. What the Website collects

Only what you choose to type into the Website’s two forms:

  • Email updates: your email address (and a note of which page you used the form on).
  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message.

The Website does not use accounts, advertising, or tracking cookies. It uses no third-party analytics and no external fonts or scripts. Your choice of light or dark display is stored in your own browser.

B2. How it is used, stored, and who handles it

  • Use: I use your email address only to reply to you, or to send the updates you asked for. I do not sell, rent, or trade it.
  • Storage: Form submissions are stored on a server that I run myself.
  • Email copy: When you submit either form, a copy is also emailed to me through Gmail (Google) so that I can see it and reply.
  • Delivery and security: The Website is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles website traffic (including visitors’ IP addresses and basic request information) in order to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. My server also keeps standard technical logs, used only for security and troubleshooting.
  • Other sites: The Website links to outside services such as Google Play, GoFundMe, and Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply once you leave this site.

B3. Your choices and deleting your data

You can ask me at any time to delete the email address, name, or message you sent through the Website. Use the contact details below and I will remove it.

Both the App and the Website

Children’s Privacy

Healthy Crohns does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. This applies to both the App and the Website. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the App or the Website, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
