Time Catches Us All!

So after 15 years of working on myself and taking care of myself, I find myself in the hospital twice in two weeks. But this time is different: I was hospitalized for 9 days due to emergency surgery. I had a resection and a colostomy bag installed due to a blockage and some other problems. After surgery, the doctor said I was able to go as long as I did because of my healthy life decisions with food and exercise. I found that I was eating a whole-foods AIP diet, modified for what worked for me.
The moral of the story is that diet and exercise have a lot to do with taking care of yourself. I know that if I hadn’t done this, I could have been worse off. We give our bodies the building bricks, and our bodies work with what we give them. If we give them junky food and don’t take care of them, that is all they have to build with, and you get a subpar result and a quick demise. But if you give your body the best building supplies and give it time, you will build a better foundation and won’t have to do as much maintenance or work as hard to stay healthy.
I just want to take a second and thank all the doctors and nurses who helped me through this tough time. The moral of the story is that we need to make sure we are eating for our bodies and exercising to help us in the end.
Take the time in the day to take care of yourself. No one will do it for you.
